The Right Fit

My Style of Work

My style is free-hand. I can work inside of many of Adobe's digital software tools, but even then, most of what I do is freestyle - in other words, you won't find much in the way of form perfect design work. My work is not templated nor uses templated forms to complete. You won't find the perfect square or perfect circle in my designs, although many at first glance assume as much in some cases. And, my artwork has been incorporated into other designs that were your typical graphic art displays for marketing, reprint, and digital display.

About a 1/3 of my work is non-digital freehand artwork -- pencil, marker, paints, oils, chalk or pen atop paper, canvas, wood, and more.

My styles vary but reflect those well in the anime community to those looking for whimsical, childlike illustrations and cartoons, to dark or science-fiction in design. I have also created true-to-life and interpretational style artwork.

My Style of Communication

My style of communication is relaxed - like my artwork. I am not typically on email more than a few times per week or if I know I should be looking for an expected communication from someone. I communicate best over messaging and email, but will take phone appointments for initial project setup and follow-up.

My deliverables

The artwork I deliver is most often in digital formation - .png, .jpg, or .pdf, however, there are occasions where someone wants a print of the artwork to be applied to a poster, framed photo, T-shirt or clothing item, cup, pens, etc. In those cases, I have partnered with Back2Basics to help pull these formats and deliverables together.

On rare occasions, I offer up beginner artwork sessions aimed at children or first-timers in art expression to help create take-home designs. And, I will venture out to local community vendors and art fairs to share and sell one-of-kind* creations or reprints from popular digitally, non-commissioned, artwork.

who I might work best with

To date, my customers have ranged from comic book authors to real estate professionals, to digital brand managers, and nonprofits. But, my styles are best suited for writers of children's books, science-fiction, or even anime-style stories.

My Background

A graduate from Osseo Senior High School, located in Osseo MN, I received a full scholarship to MCAD in Minneapolis MN and attended until Spring 2020 when COVID hit. I began doing contract work for Back2Basics, LLC and am now looking to expand my commission work back into the style of design work I love most, free-hand digital illustrations.

Ninety percent (90%) of everything I do is free-hand drawing and creation, whether that's grabbing a digital pen and pad, or camera stills, and creating digital artwork designs, illustrations, cartoon boards, logos, or imagery - or if I grab a piece of paper, canvas, or piece of wood and starting creating with pencils, oils, paints, or ma

My Inspiration

My inspiration comes from a multitude of areas and influences. I love working with light and shadows in everything I create, and much of that is thanks to the sights and imagery I was immersed in through city explorations and long weekend camp trips with family and friends.

I also have an affinity for animals, and love incorporating animal

I also have an affinity for animals, and love incorporating animal styles - real and fantastical into some of my artwork. But, exploring scenery and manipulating lighting is one of my favorite things to do and has become a bit of trademark with my work.
